DIY Liquid Laundry Soap

After I figured out how to cut the cost and make foaming hand soap for my household I was feeling empowered and decided to tackle laundry soap next! This week I am sharing with you my DIY Liquid Laundry Soap!

Back in May I was researching different ways to make liquid laundry soap. Here is the recipe that I developed. One batch fills a 5 gallon bucket. After 4 months of heavy duty laundry, 1 cup per load; I have finally had to break down and make another batch.

The whole process doesn’t take very long and is so much cheaper than buying soap every month. We actually make two of these, one with borax/bleach for whites and one without for everything else! To decided whether or not you want to use borax is up to you, I definitely recommend researching the pros and cons before you use it!

These 5 gallon buckets are less than $5 and you can get one at any home improvement store, just make sure that you get one with a lid! We have a green one and a white one that way we can tell the difference between bleach and non bleach.

Our clothes are clean, allergy friendly and we have a bit more jingle in our pockets. I hope you feel empowered to discover how easy it is to make your own liquid laundry soap!

Have a great week!
