Last Friday I celebrated my 27th birthday by getting up at 3:30am (EST) and driving the 8 hours to Green Bay, Wisconsin! It was such a fun filled day with a quilting shop hop and a restaurant that I’ve been wanting to try for years! This week I am spilling all of the details (and pictures) from my day.
A couple weeks ago my Mom surprised me by making lunch reservations at Chives in Suamico, Wisconsin. I had wanted to try this restaurant for YEARS and I was beyond excited! During home game weekends (Go Packers!) this place becomes a reservations only due to the popular demand.

This sunflower bread was simply refreshing, especially topped with the Garlic-Chive Butter!

I ordered the “Trio” Which was Brie, Crabcake and Chicken Wonton. It was a perfect sampler and filling for my smaller appetite.
Chives is located in a historic building and the food is fresh and FANTASTIC! The owner (and Chef) actually created a little village behind the restaurant by buying other historic buildings in the area and moving them together. There are a bunch of little shops as well as a location for cooking classes and their main office in the caboose! I can’t wait to go back here!
After lunch my Mom and I indulged our need for more fabric and went on our own quilting store shop hop. The first store was called My Favorite Quilt Shop, it’s in Green Bay on Dousman St. and it has a bit of everything! We had actually found this store by mistake last year and knew we needed to go back!
The second store on our list was the Quilting Divas! This charming store was being operated by the owner’s husband as she skipped town to go to a quilt retreat! He was very helpful and was a lot of fun to chat with as he cut our fabric. Props to him for holding down the fort, I know us quilters can be a bit of a handful.
The third store was my favorite, Life’s a Stitch in De Per, Wisconsin. Not only was this store across the parking lot from my favorite candy store but the Ladies were FANTASTIC! They made us feel so special and welcome to their shop. It was a pleasure making our impulse purchases there. I will definitely be back!
I can not possibly go all the way to Green Bay without stopping at Seroogys! Seroogys chocolates are made right there and hands down the best chocolate that I have had in my entire life. My first stop upon entering the store is always to grab a cup of coffee and try whatever they have for sample that day. Today was peanut butter meltaways. I could write an entire blog on Seroogy’s, and I will around Easter when I place my yearly order. My Mom and I stocked up on presents and left the store with only 4 bags full of candy!
The last part of my birthday before I collapsed with exhaustion was dinner at Grazie’s, which is an Italian restaurant with a sports bar theme. It is Green Bay after all! The food was wonderful and it turns out that you get $10 off on your birthday!

You had me at Olive Oil.

I ordered the Seafood Pescatorre. It was amazing! I even ate my leftovers cold the next day!

My Mom ordered the Spicy Shrimp with a Mushroom Risotto. So Good!

I finally reached 80,000 Miles! I got Hemi in 2005 when I was only 15 and it only had 78 miles on it.
