Being Thankful

bt-blogIt’s the time of year again where I battle with my love for Christmas and at the same time try not to overlook Thanksgiving.  I’m trying to stop myself from breaking out the tree and all of my favorite Christmas decorations. (Plus my army of Nutcrackers!) Not to mention I keep finding myself going into the kitchen to start baking Christmas cookies! This week I want to share with you my need to just stop and be thankful for all aspects of my life during this month of Thanksgiving.

There are only a little over two weeks until Thanksgiving, and although it’s not my favorite holiday I am looking forward to it. To me being around those that I love most is what makes the Thanksgiving holiday special.  We have all been so busy lately that I am beyond excited to be hosting everyone at my home. That way we can all relax, catch up and enjoy just being together.

Instead of making a list and posting what I am most thankful for during the month of November, as I do like to live a somewhat private life; this year I decided that I would take a moment to write down what I am thankful for each day onto a leaf and attach it to a decorative tree. This tree is just the cutest, it even lights up! It’s the 3ft gold tree from World Market that you can get here. This way, I am still taking the time each day to reflect on what I am thankful for and I can’t wait to see the tree completely full at the end of the month.

You can get my leaf digital print here. This turkey was actually my Grandmother’s, but I gave it a Katie makeover! I just love having something of hers that also fits right at home with my own personal decor. It’s amazing what just a bit of gold paint can do!

This is also the time of year that I start making my Christmas list, something that I definitely like to have completed prior to Thanksgiving! Especially with the sales that will be following! You can get the FREE Christmas List Download here so that you can also start planning your Christmas list..
