This past weekend I hosted my annual Gingerbread House Competition.  This is always such a fun event and gives me an opportunity to spend time with some of my closest family and friends. The creativity was top notch this year and decorating Ginger Bread Houses is a blast to host with all ages. Check out the details from the our 2016 competition.

I love having a hot chocolate bar, using my Mamaw’s recipe of course!  Bonus, you can download her wonderful hot chocolate recipe free here. In order to make my hot chocolate bar complete I added plenty of marshmallows, whip cream and candy cane additions.

I kept the hors d’oeuvres a bit simpler this year making a classic cheese ball (my Grandmother’s recipe!) and Chicken Satay Puffs that I found from the puff pastry website here. Then of course I cut up a bunch of veggies, got out the crackers and spent the morning baking cookies. Check out last years party here.

This year we decided to vote using the marshmallow system to vote.  Everyone took a marshmallow and placed it in a cup that they wanted to win. Convenient and delicious! The winner this year was the Church, which was made by my Mom!!!

My house was a little beach shack on the ocean complete with a blue pulled sugar serving as the ocean and brown sugar to make the sand. It was the perfect distraction to all of the snow we received this weekend here in Michigan.
