Vacation Recap

img_3765This is my first week back after being on a 2+ week vacation, and boy do I need more coffee! I had a lot of questions on where I’ve been and since it’s a bit complicated I wanted to give you an extremely brief overview as future blogs will be more focused on the specifics.

Meet Rio!

Thursday January 19th I flew into Ft. Lauderdale, Florida and boarded a sailboat for two days. I had never been on a sailboat before and was excited for the new adventure aboard Rio. Friday the captain took us sailing out into the ocean all day as well as prepared for us vegan healthy meals and lifestyle coaching. It was an overall great experience!

Saturday January 21st (Happy Birthday Mamaw!) I took a cab from Rio, the sailboat and boarded the Carnival Conquest for an 8 day cruise! Yes, I legit traded the little boat for a mega boat. During the 8 days of relaxation I experienced 2 spa appointments, Amber Cove (Dominican Republic), Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), Curacao, and Aruba. I especially loved the Conquest’s interior as it is based off of the impressionist painters which are my favorites! #TeamVanGogh

Aruba

Sunday January 29th I walked off of the Conquest into a rainy, cold and dreary morning in Florida. I rented a car and drove 3 hours to Orlando. First stop? Disney Springs of course! I had dinner reservations at the Boat House (Amazing!), shopped at Kate Spade and made sure to pick up a Sprinkles Cupcake (or four!).

Monday January 30th I spent the day letting my inner geek show at Universal Studios playing in Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley! It was a blast but exhausting! After experiencing everything the Harry Potter World had to offer I do have to say that Gringott’s is by far the best!!! I had dinner reservations at Lombard’s Seafood which is based off of the original in San Fransisco. It was a perfect ending to that day.

Meet Luna! He is an albino barn owl.

Tuesday January 31st I spent the morning hitting my favorite spots in Orlando, like Carlo’s Bakery! Before driving to visit friends in Port Charlotte. Wednesday February 1st I visited a Bird Sanctuary in Punta Gorda. Thursday February 2nd I ate lunch at the Salty Dog and went to the Mote Aquarium in Sarasota. Friday February 3rd I flew back home to Michigan in the land of snow and ice.

Last day at the Salty Dog! We ate out on their pier, so this was my view for lunch.

As you can see I have been a bit busy the last couple of weeks. So, after hearing about my vacation which blog are you looking forward to most?

Have a great week y’all!
