Do you ever walk into a store and think, “I’m home”? That’s exactly how I felt when I walked into Le Bon Macaron. As someone who is preparing for her own place, walking into this sweet shop was like walking into a dream kitchen for me. My Mom even turned to me and said, “This place is so YOU!” I had followed Le Bon Macaron on social media for a while now, and was so excited for them to open this location. It only took my like 8 months to go check it out because of my busy schedule which I’m so glad I finally went.
My family and I were heading to breakfast around the corner and happened to park right in front of Le Bon Macaron. It’s like it was fate. Naturally, I had to go in before we left downtown Ann Arbor. Walking inside was a magical moment as my brain was in hyper drive and I was noticing all of the little details. The poor baristas, I would start ordering and then it would turn to “Ooh, what’s that over there?” Never-less I did end up ordering and selecting a few macarons to go.
Lattes are my go-to drink and given the heat I went for an iced one. I chose the Cannelle Miel, which is sweetened with honey and cinnamon. Y’all, it was perfection. Like, I’ve been looking for excuses to swing by 4th street to go get another one as much as possible.
For the macarons I chose to try the French Plum, Samoa, Orange, Jasmine, Cookie Monster and Pistachio. I’m not going to lie, I actually thought about buying all 24 just to be able to try them all. Pistachio is normally my favorite flavor, but that Jasmine by far stole the show. Each macaron was delicate, fresh and make it hard to eat one from anywhere else ever again. The Cookie Monster was a fun throwback to my childhood and I couldn’t help but smile when eating it.
