Life seems to be speeding up again for me. With both of my jobs in the fashion world I’m always needing to be a season ahead and let me tell y’all, I’m not ready. I could stay in a tropical state of mind forever if given the chance. So while my work is on the Fall my heart is here in the heat filled with tropical flowers and lots of palm print.
I snagged this top in St. Thomas this past winter and couldn’t wait to bring it out finally. When I’m in the islands I love looking for pieces that I can wear back home. While this one could be considered a swim cover up I sized down to get away with wearing it as a top. Perfect for wearing to work or out to brunch with the girls. The string around the waist cinches perfectly to give it a bit of my hourglass shape.
When you’re on vacation, especially in a beach town or even an island make sure to take the time to look at the pieces. While some are completely touristy others are gems that you will have a blast wearing all Summer long. That precisely how I shop and pick the pieces that I bring home.
Of course I am a pink and white girl so it’s easy for me to accessorize this look…. bring out the pink purse! My Rebecca Minkoff purse is a couple years old now, but its a piece that I still love and use when I’m wanting something small. My rose gold Tory Burch Millers are new this season and have been a perfect touch to my collection, not to mention they are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn in my entire life.
I kept my jewelry on theme but simple at the same time, my turtle necklace is a gift from my Mom from San Juan (similar) and my shell earrings are old but are so on trend again! (similar)
Have you been to the islands? What pieces have you brought home to incorporate into your wardrobe?
Hemi (my truck) is finally back home! He’s been at the doctor for weeks and now all of the mechanics are calling him the miracle truck. Although he is now my Dad’s, I’m thrilled to see him ready to embrace his retirement. Have a blessed week y’all!
