Winter Casual

I woke up yesterday to find my world blanketed with snow. It has landed y’all. Which is kind of perfect timing to go with my explanation of my “Snow Queen” mentality for winter! I’m also sharing all about a boutique that I found online, The Loft by Lauren Nicole where I bought this adorable top from! Plus, I have that new purse feeling! My latest velvet beauty from Spartina 449 is detailed below.

With the world frozen still (pretty much literally) and no place to go, this girl is so thankful that more and more boutique’s have added their items online to shop from. I ran across The Loft by Lauren Nicole on Instagram and just fell in love! They care about their customers, quality of the products they sell and God! Sounds like a boutique from Heaven! While they are based out of Tennessee, they are always open online here.

While there are several things I have my eye on, I only purchased the Saturday in the Park top this time. The bell sleeves just make it so much fun! Not to mention the play with patterns with the stripes, leopard print and waffle texture on the white. The top is amazing quality and runs true to size. As if the sleeves didn’t need anymore attention, just add in a bit of wind and they tend to move on their own! πŸ˜‰ This top is perfect on it’s own and will be fun in every season. It’s also easy to layer this time of year. Simply add a black or grey sweater if you’re cold.

I’ve touched on my rules for wearing white before and I’m here to officially throw them out the window! Here’s why: Last winter I bought a top late in the season on a whim and it ended up being my absolute favorite! It was white and became known in my family as the “Snow Queen” top. (Hint: I wore it last week in the Sugar Plum Fairy Hot Cocoa Bar) It never made it to the blog because I had taken my 2 week cruise, my posts became tropical and then the pesky pandemic hit. During all of that this top was my most worn by far and I was then living for that “Snow Queen” vibe. That’s when I decided, why aren’t I living that way every winter? Especially since it added such a boost to my confidence during these dreary months and my least favorite season. So, yes you will be seeing more whites in the winter over here and I definitely recommend giving the “Snow Queen” vibe a try for this season!

You know you scour Spartina 449’s website enough when you notice the new arrivals before they are announced or added to the “New Collection” section. Oops! The moment I laid eyes on this velvet Bella Shoulder Crossbody it was love at first sight! Oddly enough I had also realized weeks before that I didn’t have a black crossbody purse in my closet either. It was a win win! This purse is so fun and has so many hidden details! The side circle rings are embellished with the brand name and famous mermaid. The entire front flap is a magnet! Which means that the chain will stick to it, it’s kind of fun, especially when you don’t want the chain to hang down. Unlike most of their bags, the front is adorned with jewels instead of their logo/brand name. The inside is also a fun pink! Last but not least, it’s a perfect size and holds everything I need for running around!

I’m still keeping my accessories light during the pandemic. My heart necklace has been passed down a couple of generations. (You can definitely tell how windy it was in the photos as it kept showing up twisted, I kept fixing it during the shoot!) Here is a similar one for you. My black booties are Universal Threads from Target and have become my go-to this year. I absolutely adore them!

I’m a bit excited, I have the entire week off! Of course I’ve already been deep cleaning, organizing and a bunch of other things. Hopefully, I will run out of energy and be able to catch up on some sleep at one point! Have a blessed week y’all, happy Thanksgiving and stay safe!
