Last weekend I hit the coast of Lake Michigan to one of my favorite lake towns complete with some gorgeous beach vibes and lighthouse views. My first beach/lake day of the year was the perfect excuse to wear this Americana Tie Dye Maxi that can go from coverup on the beach to strolling the shops in the town.

Nestled right along the coast of Lake Michigan, just north of Chicago is one of my favorite hidden getaways, Silver Beach County Park. Although, depending on the time of day it doesn’t seem so hidden! You wouldn’t know if by my pictures but this place was PACKED! Luckily, I was just down enough on the beach and a bit patient for some shots without too many people in the background.

If you remember, I came across this gem in St. Joseph last fall during a much needed girl’s day. Well, I couldn’t wait to get back there this season! When opportunity hit, I packed my beach bags and hit the road! I absolutely adore the town of St. Joe’s. I honestly fall in love more and more each time. This time I headed straight for the beach where I spent a few hours. Grabbed a pizza from Silver Beach Pizza (hands down my favorite in Michigan!) and headed uptown for a quiet picnic. We had the fur baby’s, so eating at the restaurant wasn’t an option this time. Luckily, I found a perfect picnic spot last time I was here. I ended my afternoon by browsing some shops before heading home.

Let’s dive into my beach day look! This tie dye maxi has quickly become my go-to for the summer! Not only is it giving off some fun Americana vibes for the holiday’s coming up, but it’s light weight, breezy and a total Amazon find! This $25 dress has some fun details that the wind decided not to let me show you. There are side slits on both sides allowing for easy walking and wondering breezy moments by the water! The back also has a fun open strap detail. I’ve worn this as a cover up as well as a maxi dress and it works beautifully as both!

My “Beach Hair Don’t Care” hat was a gift from Belle Row Boutique a few years back. I found the exact one on Etsy for you here. These Quay sunglasses were my splurge earlier this year, I just knew I would wear them with everything. Especially since they are that classic cat eye with a fun gradient tint! I get so many compliments on my purse! Sadly, this one is sold out from Red Dress, but they have a similar style here for you. For an extra flare, I like to tie scarfs onto it that coordinate with my outfits during the week as well!

I asked my family this week what I could bring to our Memorial Day lunch. I was told I’m in charge of “the Red, White & Blue”. Huh. Think some of them have been reading my blog this month?!? I think I have this one covered… Have a blessed and safe weekend y’all!
