It’s been a jam packed summer for me and it’s been a hot minute since I’ve had a chance to share a fashion post lately. Truth is, my Summer Nights looks have been on point lately, they just haven’t been the best time to photograph. I’m sharing my favorite top, which I snagged from Nordstrom… that I have in three different colors!
One of my favorite and careless ways to wear this top is to add my favorite kimonos on top! With the Black City Chic Double Layer V Neck Top, I paired it with my black jeans, favorite (& very old) Vince Camuto Wedges and my new leopard print kimono that I got from Victoria Secret this summer. I’ve mixed and matched all of the colors with kimonos at this point to be honest. One night, the temps dropped to 30 degrees and I even threw on my Snow White Sweater over the royal blue one! My point is, these tops are so easy to layer! Which is perfect for the upcoming season change. Kimonos are especially fun and playful this time of year, but I’m looking forward to busting out my leather jackets with them for an edgier look.
1…2…3… Make it Blue! The Royal City Chic Top is by far my favorite of the three, but only because of the color. I guess royal blue is my color, and one I don’t buy myself enough or find enough of in stores. Anytime I wear the color I get nothing but compliments! That’s a big hint to go out and buy more of the color y’all! Problem is… It’s kind of hard to find when it’s not ‘in style’. Let’s chat about some more details about this top y’all – it’s double lined! So, there is no see-through problem. Which is great!! I don’t dry mine because of the material, I just wash it and then let it air dry on a hanger. Because of the double lining, it might take you a minute to make it right again, but other than that I’ve had no problems with it at all! The straps are not adjustable, and this top runs absolutely true to size! It’s made to show off the cleavage, so make sure to take your measurements and shop by those.
Dressing it up a bit is a cinch! I pulled out my favorite light weight pencil dress pants and my faux suede black wedges that I got from Impressions! This look is ready to take me anywhere, including downtown! Of course, I like to let my Mermaid self show a little bit in the jewelry department and bust out my one of my favorite turtle necklaces that was a gift.
If y’all know me, you knew water had to be near by at one point! There is nothing classier then a white shirt and jeans combo. The White City Chic Double Layer Top pairs nicely my favorite pair of torn up jeans for a more casual vibe. Throw on a pair of your favorite earrings and Tory Burch Miller’s and the look is complete.
Believe it or not, I actually spent months looking for the perfect top/tank that could do all of this. I ordered quite a few and returned them all. This ended up being the ‘unicorn’ type of top that I had been looking for. But, that’s the fashion blogger world, right?! I look for the item, try a ton until I find that one special one to share with all of you! It’s tried and true, Katie approved y’all!
