Draped Vest & Kicking off Winter One Cup of Coffee at a Time

Winter has officially hit us here in Michigan. The temps have dropped, snow has hit, there are carols in the air and I’m just trying to get through it one cup of coffee at a time. My season of change hasn’t stopped for a minute and I’m on light speed heading into the new year. I’m focused on layering this time of year. Whether it’s vests, coats, jackets, shrugs, wraps… you name it, I’m layering it. Which is why I am kicking off the season with this draped vest that feels like a blanket wrapped around me all day long.

I’m not kidding when I say that this dropped vest feels like a blanket wrapped around me when I wear it. It is so warm, has the beautiful fringe element and it helps bring jeans up to a thought out more put together appearance. It comes in a few colors but I went with the blue, which turns out to be a bit more teal-ish. Again, perfect for me! This latest Amazon find of mine has been on repeat in my wardrobe this month and will definitely carry me through spring.

My bone long sleeve shirt was part of a Fashom box that I scored last winter and I couldn’t wait to dig it out of hiding again this year. The bottom is a bit sheer and it has a handkerchief type hem that bring a playful touch to any look. You never know what amazing find you’re going to have in your Fashom box! The snowflake necklace is a bit old, but I’ve linked a similar option for you here. If some of you are wondering why I have a snowflake necklace even though I can’t stand the evil particles of death… yeah, me too. I have no idea how the item ended up in my jewelry box or the matching earrings. But they are perfect for accessorizing this time of year! My favorite accessory of all is my latest navy suede purse from Spartina 449 that I got for my birthday last month. It’s been perfect for transitioning into this next season and the best part is that it goes with almost everything I own!

I’m in full planing mode, from the holidays, vacations to business trips coming in the new year. I feel like a walking Zagat filled with knowledge about lodging, restaurants and sights that I need to see while I’m in those locations. At least those will keep me focused and busy throughout the winter so I don’t focus too much on the lack of sunlight, warmth and the depressing month of February.

Have a blessed week y’all!
