One of my favorite stops in Sarasota, Florida was The Old Salty Dog. This dog friendly eatery was a perfect break in my day on City Island located perfectly across from the Mote Aquarium. (Future Blog)
The Old Salty Dog was featured on Man vs Foodย back in 2009 as their specialty the Salty Dog is a deep fried hot dog worthy of a fan following. The wait was minimal and the weather was perfect. Not to mention the fact that I was having so much fun visiting with all of their canine clientele. I had been gone from Tucker for almost two weeks so this dog mom was missing her baby!
We were seated right on the water and couldn’t stop soaking in the sunshine while we watched the birds and boats out on the water.
Our table split a round of mozzarella sticks and although I don’t eat hot dogs one of us did order the Salty Dog! I ended up having the Shrimp Firecracker Wrap with the Chickpea & Edamame Salad. Not only was my wrap filling and wonderful but it was perfectly light and a non fried option that left me satisfied.

They have several locations in Florida so if you are looking for a fun place to eat I definitely recommend checking out The Old Salty Dog!
I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
